Creating unique designs is labor intensive and some cookies require multiple layers that can require hours of dry time in between. There is also coordination of shipping. Cookies should be completely dry before packaging. I strive to get orders delivered one week ahead of your due date when possible.
Yes! You can freeze decorated cookies for 4-6 months. Leave them in their heat seal and store them in an airtight container in the freezer. The trick is to let them defrost completely in the container before removing them. If you remove them too quickly that can cause condensation and the icing colors may bleed and lose texture.
Creating custom cookies is highly labor intensive and complex. There are many steps involved and hours of design prep. From making and baking the dough cutting the shapes. Making the royal icing, blending colors and different consistencies. This is why it is considered sugar artistry. Anything custom or considered a boutique item is always going to be a bit more that what you would find at your local grocery store. Also, the ingredients are generally of higher quality.
